IT IS a quintessential South Australian sight snapped on our best-known river – the Murray Princess all lit up at night.
Roger Foster, 67, was staying on another famed vessel on the Murray, the Proud Mary, when he captured this picture of the Murray Princess just outside Murray Bridge.
The photographer was on the trip with his father-in-law, then aged 90, when a bit of quick thinking and handy camera work helped get the shot.
“It was a bit tricky without (the photo) getting blurred from the boat which was moving at that time of night,” Mr Foster said. He said he loved the River Murray, in particular the three-night boat trip, which started from Murray Bridge towards Renmark.

“It’s just lovely – the tranquillity and the birdlife,” he said.
When he is not capturing landscapes, Mr Foster’s first love is wedding photography. “I love weddings. It’s the happiest day of people’s lives,” Mr Foster said.
